Emma is one of the founders and artistic director of THE RABBLE, one of Melbourne’s most prominent avant garde theatre companies. Emma’s work concentrates on re-imaginging stories from the Western canon, boldly ignoring coherent and dominant systems of narrative and representation, instead investigating and celebrating alternate ideologies. Emma was nominated for a Green Room award and won a commendation for the Age Critics Award for her production of Orlando. Her most recent productions include directing and creating: Room of Regret (Melbourne Festival, Theatre Works), Story of O (NEON Festival, MTC), Orlando (Melbourne Festival, Helium Festival, Malthouse) and Cageling (CarriageWorks, 45 downstairs). She is currently creating a version of Frankenstein as part of Malthouse’s company in residency program.
