Digital Writers' Festival: 13 — 24 February, 2014

Crowdsourcing Translation: Bridges Across the Multilingual Web

1:00 PM, Monday 24 February 2014

The web comes in many languages, yet often – as English speakers – we forget, mistaking our provincial anglosphere for the world. In this session, the founders of two translation communities, Beijing-based yeeyan (the “Wikipedia of news translation“) and Melbourne-based Marco Polo Project (a collaborative website to translate and read new voices from China) will reflect on multilingual crowds, digital bridges across cultures, and options for global readership.
