My favourite genre of writing is Historical Fiction and I’m currently ready The Book Thief. My favourite book so far is War Horse.
My favourite book genre is fantasy adventure or survival. I’m currently reading Wereworld: Storm of Sharks by Curtis Jobling, which is book four in the series. My favourite book of all time – it’s hard to say, but perhaps the Tolkien series, as well as Wereworld and the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini.
My favourite type of books are action and fantasy novels. My favourite book at the moment is ‘Slaves of Socorro’ by John Flanagan, and I like all the others in the Brotherband series. I like to read because if I find the right book, I really enjoy the suspense and thrills it has. Also, I like to read because the books I read usually have humour, which keeps me entertained. I’ve also really liked reading the ‘100 Cupboards’ trilogy by N.D. Wilson.
I have recently started reading Game of Thrones. I mostly read fiction and some political and historical non-fiction now and again. I read sci-fi and fantasy mostly, but books like 1984 and Brave New World are ones that really grab my interest, and would be in my top five books. At the moment I am reading Clash of Kings, second in the Game of Thrones series. My top three books would be Compulsion, 1984 and Game of Thrones. I love the immersion in other worlds.
I really enjoy science fiction, dystopia, young adult fiction and action. I’m currently reading ‘Insurgent’ (the second book in the Divergent trilogy). I am loving the Divergent trilogy, it is suiting me perfectly. I love that just by reading you can enter another world, something unlike the one you’re in and you can learn about how other people see the world – like the author and the characters.
I love books and have acquired quite a collection in my 11 years. At the moment I am reading a few books, the classic “Lord of the Flies”, the latest Artemis Fowl book called “The Time Paradox” by Eoin Colfer and ‘The Kill Order” by James Dashner (which is part of the prequel series for The Maze Runner, which I have read as well). Last year I made my first friend when I noticed someone reading a book about Ancient Greece. I had just finished the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan and was very passionate about Ancient Greece, particularly Greek gods. I hope to one day travel to Greece to see the Ancient temples of the gods myself. I read every spare moment I have but currently I have no aspirations to write a book myself. However, I do enjoy creative writing at school so who knows what the future will bring!
I’m not fussy over what genre of book to read, but I generally prefer science fiction and biographies involving harsh realities. Currently I’m reading Anh Do’s ‘The happiest refugee’. My favourite book would have to be the all-time classic ‘Pride and Prejudice’. Reading is a great way to sink into oblivion, and forget any troubles and strife. I love reading because it can plunge the reader into any world of possibility, and there is an endless, varying range of wonderful stories that are easily re-liveable.
Some of my favourite books are: the Divergent series (Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant) by Veronica Roth, Nightmares by Jason Segel, Girl Online by Zoe Sugg, The School for Good and Evil 1 and 2 by Soman Chainani. I also enjoyed The Road to Gungagai by Jackie French, Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein, and The Maze Runner by James Dashner.
I like romance and general teen fiction, and a bit of dystopian as well. I’m a hopeless romantic. I just finished reading ‘The Elite’ by Kiera Cass which I loved. But I also just finished reading ‘The Great Gatsby’ for the third time. I’m not usually one for writing of that time but the way F. Scott FitzGerald wrote was mesmerising. I love escaping into a book. I just love the way reading can take you to another world. I love how you can fall in love with characters that are only ever alive upon paper and I love how attached you can get to them. I love the fact that you will cry, laugh, smile with characters, as though their pain was yours, as though their laughter was yours. If I’ve had a bad day I will honestly just sit there and read as a way to escape within another world.
I am currently reading The Carrie Diaries. In terms of my favourite books, from when I was younger, I loved the ‘Main Streets’ series by Ann M Martin. More recently I love the Divergent series and Looking for Alaska. What I love about reading: getting a chance to have a break from the world and enter the world of the book for adventures.
I read anything from werewolf to period dramas. My favourite genres are: action, adventure, romance, comedy and drama. My favourite book currently is Hunger Games: Catching Fire. It is easy to read and has a great plotline.
My favourite book genre is anything in young adult fiction. I’m currently reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett. My favourite author is Katie McGarry.
