Kill Your Darlings Highbrow vs Lowbrow: Round 2

This event has already finished!

Kill Your Darlings is a serious literary journal, but we’re also serious about popular culture. We bring these two passions together, forcing our favourite writers to decide – high or low culture? The Kill Your Darlings Highbrow vs Lowbrow Cultural Showdown was a highlight of the 2014 Emerging Writers’ Festival, and the debate still rages on. Six writers will defend their passion for culture, whether it be posh or trashtacular in nature. This is a chance to celebrate the books, games and films we love, binge on and obsess over.

  • Angela Meyer defending highbrow books
  • Lisa Dempster defending lowbrow books
  • Dan Golding defending highbrow games
  • Katie Williams defending lowbrow games
  • Annabel Brady-Brown defending highbrow film
  • Sian Campbell defending lowbrow film
