Spacie Magazine

Spacie: The Space and Culture Magazine is a new collaborative platform for writers and artists who are interested in themes such as folkloric aspects of astronomy, the socio-political impacts of space exploration and astronomical knowledge, and the cultural themes of how people look at the planet we live on differently when it is seen from space.

For DWF, in the lead up to their 2017 launch at at the International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide, Spacie’s Fiona Collins is joined by Marek Kukula, the Public Astronomer of the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, and Dylan O’Donnell, an Australian astrophotographer and science communicator. Here they discuss the intersections of art, astronomy, and photography, and how this intersection can engage readers in on a wider discussion about space.
