Ben is a theatre maker, designer and writer.
He regularly designs set and lighting for theatre and performance in the UK, collaborating with artists including Sleepdogs, Greg Wohead, Kiln Ensemble, Uninvited Guests, Melanie Wilson and many others.
For Palimpsest City, he co-created and designed the live performance, and collaborated on the concept development – with a particular interest in design and user experience – of the digital platform.
He is a co-director of Dens and Signals, with whom he recently made the performance event Feast of the Dead. He’s an Associate Artist of Coney, and was a co-author of their seminal narrative experience without performers – for a ‘playing audience – A Small Town Anywhere.
As part of the core creative team for Midsummer Night’s Dreaming, an award-winning online project produced by Royal Shakespeare Company and Google Creative Labs, he created original writing and illustration.
